Cookie Notice

This notice explains which cookies and similar technologies we use on bountr.hu and bountr.com, what we use them for, and how you can decide about them. The full description of how we process personal data is in the privacy notice; this document is a more detailed supplement to it on the subject of cookies.

This is a translation for information purposes. The Hungarian version of this document is the authoritative text. In the event of any discrepancy, the Hungarian text prevails.

1. What a cookie is

A cookie is a small data file that a website places in your browser and that the browser sends back to the site on later visits. A cookie is not a program: it cannot spread a virus and cannot access other data stored on your device.

Cookies are needed because the web protocol itself remembers nothing between page loads. Without cookies you would, for example, have to sign in again on every page change.

Besides cookies we also use other local storage mechanisms in the browser. The same rules apply to those, and this notice treats them together with cookies.

2. The legal basis for placing cookies

Strictly necessary cookies are placed without consent. Without them the core functions of the site — signing in, language selection and security — do not work. This is permitted under Section 155(4) of Hungarian Act C of 2003 on Electronic Communications; the legal basis is contractual necessity for providing the service, and legitimate interest — Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR.

Every other cookie is placed only with your explicit prior consent — Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. This covers analytics and marketing cookies. If you do not consent, they are not placed and the related services, such as Google Analytics, do not load.

Consent can be withdrawn at any time, as easily as it was given; section 6 explains how.

3. The cookies we use

The list below covers, by category, every cookie the website may place on your device. Your current setting is shown next to each category.

Over a secure (HTTPS) connection your browser stores the strictly necessary cookies with a __Secure- or __Host- prefix, so that is the name you will see in your browser's cookie list. That is a browser security marker; it does not change what the cookie does or how long it lasts.

These cookies are indispensable to the website: they maintain your signed-in state, protect forms against abuse, and remember your language setting and your answer to the cookie question. The law does not require consent for them and they cannot be switched off. They are set on your first visit, before you sign in.

Analytics cookies

Google Analytics 4 cookies, which let us count visits and learn which pages people use and where they get stuck. They are placed on your device only after your explicit consent.

Off

If you reject them, not a single request is made to Google Analytics and no data reaches the provider. Every function of the website continues to work.

Google Analytics 4 is provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google may also process the data in the United States; the safeguards for that transfer are set out in the privacy notice.

4. Marketing cookies

We currently use no marketing or advertising cookies.

If we introduce any in future, we will add them to this notice in advance and ask for separate, explicit consent. Prior consent does not extend to a new purpose.

5. Embedded third-party content

The website displays an embedded map and media files. These providers may set their own cookies.

Fonts are served from our own servers, so no third-party request is made for them.

7. Managing cookies in your browser

Every common browser lets you view, delete and block cookies, usually under a Privacy or Security menu. You can block all cookies, but that removes the strictly necessary ones as well, and signing in will no longer work.

Deleting cookies also erases your stored answer, so the banner reappears on your next visit.

8. Changes to this notice

We update this notice when we introduce a new cookie, engage a new provider, or the law changes. The updated notice is published on the website with the effective date.

If we introduce a cookie for a new purpose, we will ask for fresh consent; prior consent does not extend to a new purpose.
